Everything that you eat has a certain number of calories assigned to it. Even if it is zero, there is a calorie count for anything that you take into your body. Everything that you do during the day, down to just breathing, requires a certain number of calories for energy expenditure. Your body needs energy to survive and that energy is supplied through the things that you eat and drink. Therefore, if you want to lose weight the equation is simple, you have to expend more energy than you are consuming. There are two ways that you can do that; either you have to eat less, or you have to move more.
When you eat more than your body needs for energy, the additional calories are stored in fat cells. The problem with fat cells is that they are very resilient. To even target fat stores to burn for energy you first have to deplete all the available energy that you have in the body. Fat stores are that last ditch effort for energy. That is why it seems harder to take off weight than it was to put it on. Fat stores are very stubborn things that don’t like to cave very easily. There are things that you can do to more readily target your fat stores. If you follow these rules you can force your body to begin to burn away those fat stores in the cells.
Use both anaerobic and aerobic exercise in your daily routine
When people work out they usually prefer either to do anaerobic or aerobic activity. It you want to successfully target fat stores you have to use a combination of the both of the. Aerobic activity is the best way to use the available energy that you have, once that is depleted, anaerobic exercise goes to work on the fat cells which carry the additional energy needed. If you want to get the most bang for your workout buck, make sure to incorporate both types of exercise daily. Start with aerobic activity such as walking on a treadmill and then switch to weight bearing activity for the most effectiveness. By depleting the available energy first, you can then successfully move beyond to those stores of fat.
Build lean muscle mass
Lean muscle mass is the key to speeding up your metabolism. A metabolism which is working efficiently will burn more calories in a quicker amount of time. Muscle mass is what makes the metabolism burn. By increasing your muscle mass through load bearing exercise you are working to make your body burn more effectively and to quickly target those fat cells for additional energy. You will not “bulk” up as most fear, when you build muscle you are aiding your body in burning more calories which lead to weight loss. Lean muscle mass is a key ingredient to weight loss. In combination with calorie cutting, when you build your metabolism, you can speed up your weight loss considerably.
Drink lots of water
It is important that you drink lots of water to achieve your weight loss goals. After your target your fat cells, you still have to flush them through your system. The best way to expedite ridding them from your body is through making sure you are hydrated enough. That can be achieved through drinking a minimum of 8 8 ounce glasses of water a day. Water will also increase your energy level and help to make you feel more “full”, by satiating your hunger sensations. By replacing other beverages with water you can more effectively target the fat stores in your body in many ways and see those unwanted pounds melt away. It is the one secret key that ties all of your efforts together to get you where you want to be.
