I know when I am feeling worn out and tired there is nothing that fills my spirit more than the sound of waves rushing against the sand. The sound of waves coming into land, crashing and then receding is about as close to the comfort of a heartbeat that I can think of. I consider myself a “water girl” finding the only thing that can rejuvenate my weary soul is being close to the richness of life giving water. There have been many times in my life when things have spiraled out of control and I have found solace in the wake of calm waters to soothe my soul. If you are looking for the best destination to heal your tired, aching outsides and in, there are many spas that are more than just a place for a massage. Close up against the ocean you are able to partake in the beauty of white sand, the spa experience and water so rich in nutrients they can heal you from the inside out. Some of the best hot springs spas are located around the US. You don’t have to go to FIJI, or halfway around the world in search for opulence, it is located sometimes in your backyard. When I head to a spa I want to be immersed in water, fed the best concentration of mineral enriched water, and be massaged with water springs. The Hot Springs of North Carolina

If you are looking for a hot spring in your backyard, the hot springs of North Carolina may be just what the doctor ordered. Located nestled in the Appalachian Mountains is the Pisgah National Forest. There are many trails and other adventures to partake in, and bodies of water to experience. After you have challenged yourself, it is time to hit the Hot Springs Resort and Spa. A hotel, which is more like a B&B, this is one of the most upscale, yet down to Earth spa retreats available. Great for the adventurer who wants to see amazing things, yet to unwind and find comfort in the healing nature of water that flows from the land at 100 to 104 degrees, it can renew your spirit. This quaint destination is home to one of the smallest populations of any other city in the US. It also is home to the world’s largest hot spring. With temperatures that reach upwards of 127 degrees, which is cooled into the ponds of the Hot Springs State Park, it is one of the most beautiful displays of water majesty. As the water spews from the Earth it creates a rainbow aura that is something like nothing else you have ever seen. There is a six hour trek to get to this off the beaten path destination, but the ride to get there is just as amazing as standing in the wake of this amazing natural creation. There is fun for everyone with water slides, A Dinosaur center and restaurants to feed your hungry soul. The best that nature has to offer, this is definitely a place for a water lover.

The Hot Springs of Bath County, Virginia

Located in in Allegheny Mountain County is one of the most outdoorsy forest trails, fishing lakes and hot springs retreat in this world. The homestead is a resort which is built around both the hot and warm springs of the area. Built back in the 1700s, it has seen the likes of Royalty and Presidents. Not only can you partake in the hot springs and the luxury of the resort, enjoy the wading pools, fishing and a B&B mansion where you are waited on like someone special. There are many establishments to choose from, not too touristy, it does cater to those who are coming from far and wide to stand in awe of the natural wonder. There is always a festival, or concert to partake in, which makes it so much more than just about the water, it is an event.
